it is a misconception that high ranked officers are earning big bucks. a bridadier takes home 30-35k. its true that they enjoy a lot of facilities and perks. they may be able to throw lavish parties and play golf ..but their pockets remain light :-)

before we lose the point and begin talking about govt jobs in general, one thing has to be kept in mind: though the army is paid by the govt, the job of an armyman is extremely different from that of any other govt employee. it is not fair to club them...

yes that’s true Nishant. till now, the DA and DP made up for more than double of the basic salary...these recommendations may look good on paper but in actuality, it amounts to barely nothing. The Indian Army is growing weaker by the day.

as much as we would like to believe otherwise..this world sadly does function on physical appearances. i agree that with time looks do not matter as much as the qualities of a person, but they certainly give a head-start in many areas. it is unfortunate...

If you get down to calculating it, the salary is not going to be dramatically higher than the previous one because of the merging of dearness pay and allowances. It is all vote politics.
